H1: Single vs. Two-Storey Extension: My Design Advice for Maximising Value
As your Architectural Designer, one of the first questions I help you answer is: Should we go up or out? Both single and two-storey extensions offer fantastic benefits, but one usually provides a better return on investment for your House Extension Design.
Design Option | Best Used For | Why I Recommend It |
Single-Storey | Open-plan kitchens, light-filled living areas, connecting to the garden. | Lower overall build cost and a simpler route through planning. I use large glazing and vaulted ceilings to maximise light. |
Two-Storey | Adding essential space (bedrooms, bathrooms, home office). | Best Value Per Square Metre. The foundations and roof work are costly, so adding a second floor is the most cost-effective way to double your space and boost property value significantly. |
My Design Advice is always future-focused. When I create your House Extension Design, I assess not only your current needs but also your property's ceiling value in Leicestershire to ensure your investment is sound.
