Single-Storey	Open-plan kitchens, light-filled living areas, connecting to the garden.	Lower overall build cost and a simpler route through planning. I use large glazing and vaulted ceilings to maximise light.
Two-Storey	Adding essential space (bedrooms, bathrooms, home office).	Best Value Per Square Metre. The foundations and roof work are costly, so adding a second floor is the most cost-effective way to double your space and boost property value significantly.
